THANK YOU SO MUCH RONNIE I NEED TO KNOW WHATS MEAN CEO ABC JFK THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN

    omar

CEO is Chief Executive Officer – Big boss at a company.
JFK is John F. Kennedy a U.S President, and the name of an airport in NYC (New York city)
ABC as far as I know refers to the alphabet!
Hope that helped and thanks for watching!

      Ronnie

I think the ABC is standing for Australian Broadcasting Corporation like ABC news. Hope you may not mind my comments.

        mukhtartanai

I think it’s usualy usd as a structure, means the most basic concept of smthng.

I like this ,but I have question what does mean mrd.

ghalem

    Sorry, I don’t know!

    Ronnie

      mdr= mourire de rire

      nasser eddine

      Hi guys

      Brenneka McNeil

It’s in french. MDR means MORT DE RIRE, so in english means Death of laugh. Good luck.

    chahbout

This learner asked about “mrd” and not “mdr” which is “mort de rire”,the first one is something bad,it’s better don’t know it at all,we’re here supposed to learn useful and interesting words not bad one, thank you!

      MR.smart

Hi ghalem! mdr means: mort de rire.
in English,we write lol but in french it’s mdr.

You can never say have being! The verb “to be” is a stative verb. Stative verbs can never be used with “ing”!
Have been is present perfect. We use it to talk about a past event that was exciting or not routine.

Maria

hi mam,what is P.S?
N.B?

tiko

P.S. means post script. It is added at the end of a letter. It is Latin and it means after (post) write (scriptum), or written after!

N.B I haven’t heard before but according to Wikipedia, it means…………. Nota bene (pronounced /ˈnoʊtɑ ˈbɛnɛ/; alternate pronunciations /ˈnoʊtə ˈbeɪni, ˈbɛni, ˈbini/; plural form notate bene) is an Italian and Latin phrase meaning “note well”.[1] The phrase first appeared in writing circa 1721.[2]
Often abbreviated as “N.B.”, nota bene comes from the Latin roots notāre (“to note”) and bene (“well”).[1] It is in the singular imperative mood, instructing one individual to note well the matter at hand. In present-day English, it is used, particularly in legal papers,[3] to draw the attention of the reader to a certain (side) aspect or detail of the subject on hand, translating it as “pay attention” or “take notice”.

N.B. is often used in academic writing, but the term “note” is a common substitute.

    Ronnie

WOWW N.B MEANS IN ENGLSH SOMETHING LIKE GOOD NEWS?

      ringo20452001

        I don’t know!! Sorry!

        Ronnie

        no,sorry dea,but N.b iz a latin word,which meaning iz not a bean,n itz mean note plz

        simran96

Nota Bene is a italian word for pay attention, remember this well literally it mean : Nota = note , bene= well, good

      rocketluper94

Hi Runnie,… THank you very much , actually i have had lots of Problems in the mentioned lesson ….. SO solved very well when tought and explain,,,also i have a ?4U, what is the meaning of Asl?

Khalid

In chatspeak, it’s short for “Age? / Sex? / Location?” (someone might answer “20, F [female], Sydney, Australia” or something like that). It also stands for American Sign Language. Possibly embarrassing if you mix them up!

Hi Ronnie. Thank you for the very good lesson. I’ve 3 questions:
1- Is LMAO a rude expression?
2- Why I see some native speakers write lol instead of LOL (with small letters)
3- Do you have a facebook account?

Ahmad

    1) No — it is not “rude”.
    2) We wrote lol because we are too lazy to press caps lock or shift.
    3) No.

    Ronnie

1)But it contains the word “as*” (~_^) O.o
Ronnie, Could you please help me. I’d like to know some of telephone calls expressions in English. For example what should I say when I want to end it and how I start it. How the custom service representative would usually reply to telephone calls and how should I reply to him. When the caller wants another person, not me but he mistyped the number, what should I say to him etc etc. It’ll be greatly appreciated if you make a video for me. If it’s not possible then it’s ok don’t bother yourself. Sorry if my English is bad

      Ahmad

Ok, I will try to make a video for you! Thanks for watching~!

Why the old english (phonetics) have changed into the new one although the old one was easier to write with cause we write as we pronounce????????????

thank you for the lesson so useful

feeling.heart

All languages evolve in time. I think that the “old” language is more difficult because it is not how we say words, but based on many different languages – Greek/Latin/Germanic.

    Ronnie

Hi Ronnie,

Estrella

Dear mam..
i hope you’d like to help me with this prob which is irrelevant to this lesson..this is a very important grammar point which nobody of my friends could explain of…

mam i know how to use ”where”with other ways..

how to use where with words like these??

1 That is the RELATIONSHIP where one thing makes a change in another.

2 if you have gone to a WEBSITE where you have to create an account for yourself..

3 This procedure should be followed in CASES where dishonesty has been alleged.

4 Due to the volume of emails we receive we are unable to respond to the EMAILS where the answer can be found on our web site itself.

5 I got to the STAGE where I wasn’t coping any more.

These are a few sentences i have a lot..please explain to me with some of your own sentences how to use ”where” with these words.

THANKING YOU

ROYSTAN

Excellent Ronnie!!! CUL8R

Hi dear teacher roonie thanks for the lessons .. please..please..please.. tell me: 1- when you say LOL is Laugh Out Loud . I know laugh means laughing normally(heheh), but what does (Out Loud) mean? Does it mean (laughing loudly) like(HA HA HA..) ? …. 2- What is the different between (LAUGH and LAUGH OUT LOUD).. thank you please response ..

karzanismyname

Hmmm…you know how you can read to yourself, silently, but you can also read out loud? It’s like that! If you see something that is so funny it makes you actually laugh, that’s what “LOL” is for.

(A lot of people just write “lol” when they think something is funny, so I’ve seen some people write “ALWP” — “actual laughter was produced” — to mean they literally laughed out loud! That might be going a bit too far…)
