Try looking up the word in a dictionary, like Dictionary.com. It will list what part of speech the word is right before the meaning.

please check your website’s resources section. the pdf file linked to the “50 Common Grammar Mistakes in English Part-2” is same as “50 Common Grammar Mistakes in English Part-1”. so the content that we see in Part-2 can’t be saved as pdf because the pdf contains the content of Part-1.

Thanks for the lesson, Jon!
But I have a question: is it absolutely the same to say “afraid” or “scared” to express fear? Or is there a little difference depending on the situation?

katbu

I’m afraid… I will never be able to speak English as a native…

Ivan David

Hi, dear Jon.Could you please answer to my question: In your video clip about ”afraid” ,you mentioned that afraid is an adjective, and as we know adjective is a word which describes a noun. But in the examples you wrote on white board the word ”afraid” describes the verb and not any noun.So it seems to be adverb.I can’t see any noun there. Would you please make it clear for me? thank you very much for your lessons and your good performance
