Hello Ronnie,
Excellent explanation. Football is the most important and popular sport here in Brazil, and learn its vocabulary in English is awesome. The best part was “cutting off” the word “soccer”………it make no sense!
We will be Hexa Champions soon! LOL
wilson.med33
Hi Ronnie! Great lesson, just one correction: From each group, two teams advance to the next round. And USA advanced to the best 16 teams, but there Belgium won 2-1.

World cup, Football vocabulary. Thanks Ronnie.
RJ
Great lesson Ronnie! I think you did quite well at explaining the main soccer rules. The final will be Brazil vs. Argentina at Maracana Stadium and we are going to beat the Argentinean and earn our sixth World Cup!
gabriel1994
Great lesson! I am supporting Brazil because our government hás spent a lot of money for the worl cup… Money from education, hospitals, habitation, etc. We should win the cup, at least.
Sally S
We play it with our feet, so its a football. I dont know why do Americans call it soccer…
Brainiac
because they’re stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
daniramy
Because there is already the football which is almost equal to rugby
fabinho86
Thanks ronnie
Tida
This lesson os very interesting for me now! Thanks
udi2013
Hi Ronnie
First, congratulations for your video.
Your explanation about the red card is a little wrong. When a player receives the red card the player is out of the current game and out of the next game, not necessarily out of the championship. If the player did something very wrong the player would be judged and punished.
arthurdpg
A very useful football vocabulary. My country is not in the World Cup niether :(

you are so sweet and lovely teacher , just one thing .The offside means the attacker should be on OR behind the defending line ,at time the ball move to him
thank you for consideration Ms Ronnie
Best regards
Khaled

David Avetyan
i am from Algeria and support the Algerian team which one you support rooniei think you support englan team because the have a player has the same name iike you , why Canada do not qualifie to the world cup?
ayoublife
Ronnie!
A little correction: we may get a red car if we have got two following (2) yellow card in the same play, or have done a very serious foul, that can injures someone; the judge decides this. Then we’re going to suspend for one play in the world cup. After that, we can play again another time.
Hugs!
luizvaleriodutra
Hi, Luiz.
You are correct about the yellow cards, but a friend of mine told me that we can’t call “judge” the guy whom whistles when a player makes a foul.
He insists that we must call him “referee” or just ref.
I don’t know, I like to call him judge too. :)
Evaldo Mendes
Evaldo!
Thanks a lot. I think your friend is right: we must use “referee” instead of “judge” in this case. Maybe Ronnie could help us!
Best regards!
luizvaleriodutra

amazing … but !!!
1 – why u pronounce MEXICO (MEHICO) ?
2 – the red card given to a player not to a team
3 – penalty : its a foul in the box of the goalkeeper
best regard . u the best

I don’t know about sports, but the answer to your first question is that is how it is said by Mexicans, in Spanish. In English, we do pronounce the ‘x’ normally, but Ronnie is not normal :)

There wasn’t any information about the word “goaltender” in a video lesson, but I met this word in a quiz and that sucks!
Dr.Mag
Hi Ronnie, I’d like to make a correction, the red card doesn’t mean you go home, it means you must leave the game, and you can’t play the next game, once you pay your game, you are able to play the next game without cards on your name. :) Great video. Colombia was disqualified today :( Referee was with Brazil, in my opinion. Bye Thank for the video.

It’s very funny lol. But I have to differ with you on one point. I believe soccer is a good word to be used depending on the country you’re in.In USA football can be mistaken for a different sport (as you pointed out) so, in order to avoid confusion, I’d personally say ‘soccer’.Thank you very much for this lesson. You’re very beautiful, Ronnie! :)

I like to watch football games at home with my family..people in India are very excited and crazy for this game though it is not played in India..most of the people in India are big fan of Brazil team including me so i think I am cheering BRAZIL..:-)
and once again nice video from you Ronnie.I loved the way you said GOALLLLLLLLLLL :0)
Thanks people in India, for cheering team Brazil! That is really kind! :)
Oh Janilza don’t say thanks..
It is our pleasure :) to cheer those teams which are taking much more efforts in order to win the world cup match..
Surpriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiise Ms Ronnie
I am ALGERIEN >>
you are so sweet and lovely teacher , just one thing .The offside means the attacker should be on OR behind the defending line ,at time the ball move to him
thank you for consideration Ms Ronnie
Best regards
Thanks,good lesson
i am from Algeria and support the Algerian team which one you support rooniei think you support englan team because the have a player has the same name iike you , why Canada do not qualifie to the world cup?
Ronnie!
A little correction: we may get a red car if we have got two following (2) yellow card in the same play, or have done a very serious foul, that can injures someone; the judge decides this. Then we’re going to suspend for one play in the world cup. After that, we can play again another time.
Hugs!
Hi, Luiz.
You are correct about the yellow cards, but a friend of mine told me that we can’t call “judge” the guy whom whistles when a player makes a foul.
He insists that we must call him “referee” or just ref.
I don’t know, I like to call him judge too. :)
Evaldo!
Thanks a lot. I think your friend is right: we must use “referee” instead of “judge” in this case. Maybe Ronnie could help us!
Best regards!
that is my favorite lesson i got 8 outta 8, thanks very much Ronnie for a such an interesting lesson
any one who would like to practice their English Skype me at jamaly.lameck
Thank you very much, it was an interesting class about footbal. I’ve learnt many new words

This lesson was so funny hahaha. I hope you are with Brazil! ;)
All your classes are helping me too much! Thanks for teaching us!
10/10 Ronnie I never heard de word “goaltender”??? In Football I think you mean “goalkeeper”.
Love Ronnie! thanks so much!
Than you!
I didn’t know these terms even in Russian and Ukrainian!:)

#suarez
hi Ronnie! thanks for this lesson
you are so smart and know what you should do, when and where
i was looking for the lesson about football
in the united state all the people call soccer instead of football and that’s funny.
i hope they change their mind after listening the lesson.
Great lesson, Ronnie…And you explainned very well the football vocabulary!
Thank you Ronnie , very good lesson
although i don’t watch a football match :)
but very useful
100% I’m from braziiiiiiil, Brazil it’s Penta Campeão / Penta champion and will be hexa champion in this world cup.
Thanks, Ronnie! It’s a good lesson! However I prefer hockey. I think you too.
The offside rule is more complex than you explained, but, overall, the lesson was very good.
Ho no!! No Brasil again…:( We want to see the Gold Cup in a different country!! There are more teams who are playing harder than Brasil this time!
Excellent quiz! its A PLEASURE DOING Them
Thank you, I am a new user
Thanks Ronnie for this lesson.
amazing … but !!!
In English, we do pronounce the ‘x’ normally, but Ronnie is not normal :)
hhhhhhhh thanks a lot friend . very very interesting
i wish to be a good friend for all members of this amazing site . it is the best for learning English
Very easy way to say something about football, thank you
Thank you
Thanks Ronnie! I loved your lesson! GO BRAZIL!!!
Hi Teacher nice class. Why at the football videogames when the game start does it say “kick off”?
Thanks Ronnie! Soon We’ll watch Brazil again, and I hope will win again.
Thanks Ronnie, I love your teaching way. May you live long.
Thank u so much ! You’re so funny !! Hahaha …. So i think it’ s a great way to learn !
Thanks Ronnie for this lesson.
thank you!!! the class was very nice :)
There wasn’t any information about the word “goaltender” in a video lesson, but I met this word in a quiz and that sucks!
My the team is Hollland……. so tonight the are playing with Costa Rica!! Execting brrrrrrr
Thanks for this lesson…
football…
100% :) Brazil yey ! football (not soccer) is our game

Thanks Ronnie, good job.I believe Saudi Arabia was suppose to be in World Cup hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Although it was a very awesome class I still don’t why soccer is wrong. I was told the main difderence between soccer football was the way they were played … Feeling disappointed :/

In my opition,I think goalkeeper is better word than goaltender to describe the person who save the ball and prevent the opposite team to get the point
Thanks Ronnie for your lesson. really it was amazing :D
Thank you a zillion times.
Hi, Ronnie. Thanks for your effort on teaching us English. I’m confused of using the tenses after “never”. Like, “never worn”(once, i saw some people say “never wore”). Could you please make a video about that? Thank you.
I am brazilian, but I hate the World Cup in my country, we have more important things to worry about at the moment… FIFA go home!

I don’t know how u managed to get 100% cause usually girls care about make up only . cheers
Good morning Vieri88
haha you’re right, girls are interested in make up and fashion and some in sport..to be honest I’m not interested in football but in the lesson and English in general.
what team have you supported in the world cup?? “is that a correct form of the question?? ummm” .
Hi Rahaf , i think your question grammatically correct , but it feels too much formal . as for me I support Italy national team always & for clubs i am a big fan of Inter Milan and i enjoy watching champions league more than world cup
Italy hmmmmm…although I’m not in sport, I agree with you;Italy has the hottest players lol :) :p
All girls ” incoraggia ” them.
:)
excuse me ms ronnie in the sentence who won? this for past but in the present could i say who win? or who wins ?

Why haven’t i been watching this video??
thank you very much teacher ! (when you explain the lesson could you speak slowly please :) )
Great lesson! Thank you Ronnie! Just a little correction, when a player gets a red card, that player has to stay in the bench for 1 or 2 games, according with FIFA laws and rules. And,in each group 2 teams addvance. But,that´s me,obcessed with Football, thank you.
Thanks for your effort on teaching us English.
oh! i’m correted question!!
so thank you very very~ much, teacher!
wonderful lesson
It was great! You is my favorite teacher!
thanks Ronnie
I got 100 and I feel happy :-)
haiz…7/8
It’s very funny lol. But I have to differ with you on one point. I believe soccer is a good word to be used depending on the country you’re in.In USA football can be mistaken for a different sport (as you pointed out) so, in order to avoid confusion, I’d personally say ‘soccer’.Thank you very much for this lesson. You’re very beautiful, Ronnie! :)
thanks Ronnie by your lessons. I learned a lot of new words about football.
Thanks ronnie now i know how to look and score footy.
Thank you Ronnie

One thing about the game was incorrect, when someone receives red card, he were out of the game and the next game, but don’t out of the world cup.
Thanks fot this video.
Hi Ronnie, could you make a lesson on Basketball please?
Oh,GOAL!!!!
There is ” football-soccer and ” football-rugby”. Both of them are football.
Thank you Ronnie, your explanation was excellent, in south america love this sport
I have a question. It is said that before USA, the article “the” is necessary. So, why you didn’t put it in your example? “In Group A, USA advances”

Hi!The lesson is very exciting.however, I would like to know how to use the word “draw” and “Nil” in a sentence. for example Can I say: Algerie draws USA?(can I form a sentence in this way?)
That was great.
Thank you.i like football and very best teacher.
8/8! Fantastic! I love football! I started to watch the world cup when I was 6-years old. Because my father is a football fan. My first world cup is the Italy world cup. The famous song ” To Be Number One” is so nice.
about offside, you just don’t mention that offside occurs with last defender opposite.
thank you for your classes
