Yusuf, thosands of people watch these lessons every day, so it is working for most people, I think. The lessons are 100% free, yes. Why don’t you tell me what the problem is? You should see a video at the top of this page. Do you see it? It is a YouTube video. Can you see YouTube videos on other sites? Some workplaces, libraries, etc, block YouTube.

Hi? I’m very happy to know this site. Thanks for evrything that you and the other teachers do here.Furthermore, it’s all free ^.*
hum…I’ve got a question. When we use relative pronoun if the antecedent is a person or people we can use ‘who, whose, whom or that’ according to circumstances and if the antecedent is a thing or things we can use ‘which, whose or that ‘. Also the antecedent is both person and thing we have to use ‘that’ right?
but I don’t know what I should use if the antecedent is connencted with or. For exampe…
Perception is a knowledge about the object or person ……. is present before the perceiver. What should I use in……..?
You’ll be my life saver…^^

i dont understand when we use do,does, did???
plz explain this
neel123
Hi neel,
“Do” and “does” are used in the present, and which one you use depends on the subject. Here are the rules:
I do
You do
He/She/It does
We do
They do
“Did” is used in the past, and is used with every subject.
I hope this helps!
Alex
thanks Alex

Alex, why in I would prefer you used “to” after prefer and in I would rather you didn’t after rather??
Alex Rodrigues
Dear Alex,
OMG, i did not doing well in quiz test. I only got 2 correct out of 5. Actually, i confuse about words “would prefer” and “would rather”. I just take the quiz and got wrong answers regarding the word “would prefer” and “would rather”. In your video, you said “would prefer” is same thing as “would rather” except the word structure. Can you give a more detail about would prefer and would rather because it is confusing me. Thanks for your respond.
Best Regards.

burcu
thanks, it is great if you add more lessons
Sim Chhoeun, Cambodia
Hi sir! I wanna ask a question from you, that what’s the difference between would prefer and would rather.
simon
Both are used to talk about preference at the moment of speaking, but they can be followed by different parts of speech.
“I would rather” must be followed by a base verb. For example, “I would rather eat sushi tonight.”
“I would prefer” can be followed by an infinitive (“I would prefer to eat sushi”), a gerund (“I would prefer eating sushi”), or a noun (“I would prefer sushi”).
Both are used to show preference when there is more than one option available at the moment of speaking.
Thanks for your question, and I hope this has made things clearer!
Alex

Hi, although i know that lesson was done quite a long time ago, i decided to check my knowledge on “How to express preferences.”
I took the quiz before watching the video. I got the result that i hadn’t expected. Only 4/5. I made a mistake in question number 4. I’m pretty suprised, a bit confused and slightly disappointed at the same time.
However after watching the video, everything became clear enough. So it turned out that it was worth watching this rather a old lesson.
Thank you Alex for this strikingly good lesson.
Have a super sparkling day for everyone who reads this comment ;)

Alex,
The lesson is very good. The only remark that I might make about this lesson is that it would benefit from some more explanation and usage examples of “would rather”. After this lesson the difference between “I would rather” and “I would prefer” is not quite clear. The rest if very good. Great thank you!-)

Thank you so much for your lessons. It always helps me with my English! Yuu are great teacher!
i dont understand when we use do,does, did???
plz explain this
Hi neel,
“Do” and “does” are used in the present, and which one you use depends on the subject. Here are the rules:
I do
You do
He/She/It does
We do
They do
“Did” is used in the past, and is used with every subject.
I hope this helps!
thanks Alex

Well Big alex, in third quiz game time, I got 80points(it make me go watching de video till I got the concept).

Alex, why in I would prefer you used “to” after prefer and in I would rather you didn’t after rather??
Dear Alex,
OMG, i did not doing well in quiz test.
Best Regards.
thanks a lot teacher..
it’s really great
^_^
so clearly talk….ı understand all of talk thank you
thanks, it is great if you add more lessons
Hi sir! I wanna ask a question from you, that what’s the difference between would prefer and would rather.
Thanks for your question, and I hope this has made things clearer!
in quiz
why we can’t say
i would rather drink juice
please explain to me
I would rather drink juice answer is not there.
that was excellent explanation about preferences
thanks alex

thank you
thank you for teaching us a new lesson.
Thank you Mr. Alex.
I watched this video twice on June 08, 2021, and took the quiz after watching it once. I got five correct out of 5.
5/5
well done,Alex
greeting from Kazakhstan o8 Dec2o21:)
I enjoyed the video but I got confused. According to another video on Youtube, “I would prefer reading books” is incorrect.
Isn’t the fourth test question wrong?
