Hi Ronnie. Can you help me this question?
In my test, choose the closet in meaning to this sentence :”If u had gone to class yesterday, u would understand why the teacher is saying what she is saying at the moment”
A. U were not here yesterday, so u didn’t understand what the teacher is saying

B. U were not here yesterday, so u don’t understand what the tacher is saying

kyu

Ans is B. Because the situation is present tense.

Ronnie correct me if i’m wrong.

    Saravanan

    B. U were not here yesterday, so u don’t understand what the tacher is saying

    Ronnie

Miss ronnie i’ve a request that plz organize a conversation class between two persons so that we can learn from them that how they response to each others questions and what are their expressions
& plz try to teach us the vocabulary more than that of the simple conversation class
coz it’z more important
If u’ve words than automatically u’ll be able to deliver a proper message after making mistakes for few days
& in last ur teaching superbly
i like the way u teach

mehnazshah

Ronnie, I’ve just finished this test and score 92 percents. Do you think that’s enough to take TOEFL test? Thank you in advance

Student

i just wanna know why we have to use somethime “to” instead “with” for exemple:
I’m talking to you. and heard once Make sex to me ? WHY?

danyelok

to’ = the simple action (as opposed to remaining silent)
    with’ = an extended conversation.

don’t know how to make this clearer or more absolute.
    .
    hope it vl help

    simran96

“Make sex to me” is wrong!

Hello, I need help, about, where can I fins the difference between ” past simple” and ” the participle”, I know the translation, but I don´t know when or which do I have do choise.

      alexsarg

Past simple is the verb form we use with simple past.
The past participle (p.p), we use with past perfect (had + p.p.), present perfect (have/has +p.p), and all forms of passive (to be verb + p.p.)

Hi,

I find your video very helpful. I am going to manage an English school in North East China and the school is asking me if there are any videos played by young Canadian children that can be used for teaching English to young Chinese students learning English.

If you know of any Canadian publishing or education organization that has published such educational videos played by kids and have some humor content, it will be great if you can inform me. We are willing to license the content for the Chinese market and market it in China and share profits.

Look forward to hear from you soon.

Thanks,

Sam

Clara

Hi,Ronnie! Thanks a lot for easy explanation!!!

ainura24

What is the difference between “to speak the truth” and “to tell the truth”? My reference book says “to speak the truth” means frankly speaking, while “to tell the truth” is not to tell a lie. Is this correct?

shaga

Hi, Ronnie.
Thank you so much. You are very good teacher, your explanation are very clear and everyone can understand very well.

Juan23

hi i am confused the word typical, some people say its meaning is very common and in dictionary i have found complecated or complex kindly explain its uses in english.thanks

sarwat

“Typical” means…representative, or fitting in with the way something normally is.

Let’s say you have a friend who is always late. You’re waiting for him somewhere when he texts to say he’ll be late. You could say, “That’s so typical!”

Or you might be worried that you have something wrong with you and go to see a doctor. The doctor might tell you that you’re perfectly normal by saying “Don’t worry, that’s typical for people your age.”

“Complicated” and “complex” both mean “not simple” or “hard to figure out”. But you would use “complicated” when you’re talking about something *difficult* (“It took me an hour to figure out this complicated math problem”, “I don’t like her, but I do want to help her out…it’s complicated”), and “complex” when you’re talking about something made up of a lot of smaller parts. (“We don’t know much about how the human brain works, because it’s so complex”, “The mosque’s ceiling is decorated with a complex pattern of tiles.”)

    engVid Moderator

    Typical= normal/common.

    Ronnie

Good day to you / I’m really enjoying your classes , I wish you all the best / would you teach us the difference of “saying ” with talk and tell
Thanks

ramees787

Saying = talking = telling. They are all the same!

    Ronnie

Hi darling!!How are you? While watching this video a question occured to me.Can I say I know English or German or any other language or I should only say I speak this or that language?I mean if you say I speak this language I understand that you are able to speak that language, but it still does not mean you master that language. In Armenian you can say I know this or that language if you master it and have deep knowlege in it or if you are a specialist of that language.

Hripsime

I think that if you say I know English, it implies that you have a greater understanding of the language than if you say I speak English!

    Ronnie

Hi, Ronnie! Can you explain the difference between cry, weep, whine, pule, whimper and some other similar verbs?

aki95

Cry is out loud and it makes a lot of noise.
    Weep is like quiet crying.
Whine = complaining about something in an annoying/child like voice.
Whimper is a sound that dogs make when they are unhappy.
Pule – cry weakly or softly.

    Ronnie
