Hate asking questions in English? Don’t stress out! This lesson teaches you the easiest way to ask any question in any English tense. Native speakers use this trick all the time; now you can too.
Sorry, everyone. Questions #2 & #3 were initially switched. This is fixed now.

So by changing the intonation of a statement, we can turn it into a question?
Yep! This is the easiest way to make a question, but what is the name of this type of questions in English grammar Rebecca?
Thanks Rebecca for this great video lessons.
All the best to you.

Thank you Rebecca .Such an useful lesson

Rebecca mam, your English so simple, clear and understandable. I wish I could speak like her. I love watching your lessons. Thank You.
engvivid85
My pleasure. So glad you find the lessons helpful. My best wishes to you, Arun.
Rebecca
Thanks for the lesson Rebecca. But you have mistakes in this quiz. The second and third questions are not written correctly. You ask to find questions which supposed to be wrong but actually they are right. Those questions should be “Which of these questions is correct?”. Tell me if I’m wrong ;-)
Best regards, Max.
Max
You are not wrong. The questions for #2 & #3 were mixed up. It is fixed now.

In the previous lessons , I was taught that native speaker often omit the auxiliary verb when questioning;in this lesson , you said that we can ask question in very easy way —raising the end word in declarative sentence simply. Right ?

Hi Rebecca
I really didn’t understand number 3 of the quiz. As I know it both the phrases “Did you looking in your purse” and “Did you looked in your purse” are gramatically incorrect.
Will you enlighten me of this?
Neusa
There was a problem with the quiz. It has been fixed now. Please take it again.

3- why ” She late for the meeting? ” is not a proper question ?

#1 & #2 — there was a problem with the quiz. It is fixed now.
#3 – There is no verb in that question. You would have to say something like "She WAS late for the meeting?"

Rebeca
Hi
I dont understand this lesson,as you know in the past question we should use did, was, were
Jhon was arrested.
was Jhon arrest?
Is it right?
Iam conifusing.
sahar
The point of this lesson is to show you another grammatically correct way of asking questions in conversational English.
You can certainly ask questions with do, did, was, etc. You can also ask correct questions by using a sentence and changing your intonation, as I explained in the lesson. In fact, English speakers use this form very often.
All the best to you.
Rebecca
I was confused too. Because I thought that we must use auxiliary verbs. But if we ask questions without these verbs during any Cambridge Exams, won’t they be incorrect?
Thank you in advance,
kenzoll
Thank you Rebecca
Angel
thanks 70
jessikas4
Rebeka, I didn’t understand the last task (10). What means “You doed the test?”, and why “you did the test?” is wrong??
Алексей Окунев
In that question, you are asked to choose the WRONG answer. “You doed…” is wrong because “doed” is not a real word.

Maybe, something like “Did she sent the email?”

Thank you ^^

Hi Rebecca,
Why did you delete my comment?
Khaled
Many people left similar comments about the quiz. We answered the first few and deleted the rest, so that we don’t confuse other people coming to the page.
engVid
Hi engvid,
the problem hasn’t been fixed yet in the 2nd question:
She sent the email?
She did sent the email?
Was she sent the email?
i chose the first but i got the correct one is the second.
Hishy
Always read the question carefully. In question 2, you were asked to choose the option which is wrong, not the answer which is right. That’s why you got confused. We have corrected everything now.
All the best to you.
Rebecca
In Russian language, all questions are always formed only by changing intonation. :)))
bonhob
hi bonhoff! it’s often the case in french and my native language: ”wolof”
seye
Portuguese is the same! We only change de intonation and add a simple “?” in end of the questions… but when we talk about verbs, portuguese is much more difficult than english because we have a verbal form for each pronouns! Painful… :/
joselourenco
now it’s over?

budi436
Hi Rebecca,
I have found another answer for 2nd question as the following!
2. Which of these questions is wrong?
She sent the email?
She did sent the email? -> Wrong!
Was she sent the email? -> Wrong! The answer
should be “Did she send the email?”.
Ken
Actually, the last answer is correct and not wrong. “Was she sent the email” means “was the email sent to her”, and this is correct grammar. It has a slightly different meaning from the other two but it is still correct English. The second answer, is the answer that is incorrect, as you have rightly noted.
All the best with your English, Ken.
Rebecca
thank you :D
nunni3
Thank you Rebecca
suleyman
I liked all of your lessons
suleyman
My apologies to all for any confusion caused by the quiz. Everything has been corrected now, so no worries. Please make sure you read the question before trying to choose the answer. Sometimes you are asked to choose the answer which is correct, while at other times you are asked to choose the one that is wrong. So always take the time to read the question carefully. This happens frequently on exams too, so don;t let them fool you! All the best to everyone and thanks for your feedback.
Rebecca
No Mam why are you apologies.Every one make mistake, every one just approach a 100% but it can’t achieve the 100%.
By the way My sweet teacher you are sooo good in english and your teaching style also so cool.

I was very surprised. I’m from Ukraine and we ALWAYS use intonation in the asking question. But in the school and university teachers always said us that intonation isn’t used in English, only auxiliary verbs (do,will, did…)
So, I have a little question.
Is intonation a feature of only modern American English or British English too?

First of all, thank you for the great class but, I have a doubt. This way of making a question is formal or informal? What I mean is: Must I use it more in a conversation? I think it is not formal because of the lack of the auxiliary verb (Do, does…) however, I’d like to know your opinion. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the lesson Rebecca. But you have mistakes in this quiz. The second and third questions are not written correctly. You ask to find questions which supposed to be wrong but actually they are right. Those questions should be “Which of these questions is correct?”. Tell me if I’m wrong ;-)

hi Rebecca, sorry for this open comment, its a black dot on you that you confused your learners by the quiz. learners shouldn’t be mixed up. find out how it happened & try to avoid it in future.
AHHHHHH!!!! It’s the black dot! The BLACK DOT! OH MY GOD, NOOOOO!
i got 7 .. need some more hardwork
i got 7 too. but I’m happy with the result, because,It has long time that I do not practice my English. let’s study guy
!!!!!!!!!
Hi Rebecca
I have tree question .
1- why ” She sent the email? ” is wrong ?
2- why “You looked in your purse? ” is wrong ?
3- why ” She late for the meeting? ” is not a proper question ?
#1 & #2 — there was a problem with the quiz. It is fixed now.
#3 – There is no verb in that question. You would have to say something like
"She WAS late for the meeting?"
Hi dear engvid,
Let me know what’s the matter????!!!!!!!
U omitted our last comments on this lesson?!
I’ve left 2/3 comments n I’ve answered 2 sb’s question n he/she left a comment 4 me n I had it in my inbox but un4tunetly when I opened the site 2 check the comments,I couldn’t find mine!

Goood Heavens!!!

The only comments that were removed were about a problem with the quiz, because that problem was fixed.

Hi
I dont understand this lesson,as you know in the past question we should use did, was, were
Jhon was arrested.
was Jhon arrest?
Is it right?
Iam conifusing.
I was confused too. Because I thought that we must use auxiliary verbs. But if we ask questions without these verbs during any Cambridge Exams, won’t they be incorrect?
Thank you in advance,
Thank you Rebecca
thanks 70
Rebeka, I didn’t understand the last task (10). What means “You doed the test?”, and why “you did the test?” is wrong??
In that question, you are asked to choose the WRONG answer. “You doed…” is wrong because “doed” is not a real word.
I am a beginner in English
Hi amjiad93
i would like to learn more english with you and i think it is a good way to learn english for both of us, so this is my facebook’s address buitiennhat@yahoo.com.vn

Nice pick up line!
I enjoyed your class. Thank you
I don’t either understand the 10th question
The first and the second question are wrong, aren’t they?
thank you
Excelent thanks so much Rebecca
Hi Argenis,,I’m so sorry to hear your great President Hugo Chavez passed away,, my condolences….
Hi Ichakushina, yes it’s very sad the lost of a person like him…thanks for your condolences
The question #2 has two wrong question, instead of 1.
The question #2 has two wrong question.
Question #2 has two wrong questions.
Please see my answer to Ken’s comment below. All the best.
hello mam
i left a comment here couple of days ago but it seems to have disappeared..i didn’t get any reply..i’m worried why is that…
I deleted the comment, because it was about a problem with the quiz, and that problem has been fixed. We answered the first few comments about this and deleted the rest.
“Was she sent the email?” Is this correct? I didn’t understand… Thank you for the lesson!
What are the differences among these words: bath, bathe, breath, breathe, mouth(n), mouth(v), teeth, teethe
Generally speaking, the first ones are nouns, the second ones are verbs.
bath- noun
bathe – verb
breath- noun
breathe – verb
mouth – noun
mouth – verb
teeth – noun
teethe – verb
Hope this helps! Good question. My best wishes to you.
another good lesson,thanks teacher.
70 % :)
u r such a good teacher Rebecca, u made me understand easily, good luck 2 u. n’ thanks again n’ again.
I do not know how to thank you Rebecca.
I am feeling very happy, this is awesome.
Way of explanation and providing different things, its easy to learn English as soon as possible.
Rebecca, Your lessons are very simply, clearly. Thank you so much. I got 100% ! :-D
I find this lesson very interesting Rebecca, thanks :)
Rebecca, thank you very much! Your lesson is so clearly and useful for me. Actually, I have never ever know this wonderful method untill I learn it from your video.
Hello Rebecca, about “Was she sent the email?” Is this correct? I don’t think it’s quite good one.
Maybe, something like “Did she sent the email?”
Thank you ^^
Hi Rebecca,
Why did you delete my comment?
Many people left similar comments about the quiz. We answered the first few and deleted the rest, so that we don’t confuse other people coming to the page.
Hi engvid,
the problem hasn’t been fixed yet in the 2nd question:
She sent the email?
She did sent the email?
Was she sent the email?
i chose the first but i got the correct one is the second.
Always read the question carefully. In question 2, you were asked to choose the option which is wrong, not the answer which is right. That’s why you got confused. We have corrected everything now.
All the best to you.
In Russian language, all questions are always formed only by changing intonation. :)))
hi bonhoff! it’s often the case in french and my native language: ”wolof”
Portuguese is the same! We only change de intonation and add a simple “?” in end of the questions… but when we talk about verbs, portuguese is much more difficult than english because we have a verbal form for each pronouns! Painful… :/
now it’s over?
i got 8 :(
i need more practise ….more examples
now i’m preparing for an exam that it will be on 3th of march
this exam contains 6 levels
i need to know which level i’m on
thanks for your helpful lessons :)
I like the way you teach
Hi Rebecca,
I have found another answer for 2nd question as the following!
2. Which of these questions is wrong?
She sent the email?
She did sent the email? -> Wrong!
Was she sent the email? -> Wrong! The answer
should be “Did she send the email?”.
Actually, the last answer is correct and not wrong. “Was she sent the email” means “was the email sent to her”, and this is correct grammar. It has a slightly different meaning from the other two but it is still correct English. The second answer, is the answer that is incorrect, as you have rightly noted.
All the best with your English, Ken.
thank you :D
Thank you Rebecca
I liked all of your lessons
My apologies to all for any confusion caused by the quiz. Everything has been corrected now, so no worries. Please make sure you read the question before trying to choose the answer. Sometimes you are asked to choose the answer which is correct, while at other times you are asked to choose the one that is wrong. So always take the time to read the question carefully. This happens frequently on exams too, so don;t let them fool you! All the best to everyone and thanks for your feedback.
No Mam why are you apologies.Every one make mistake, every one just approach a 100% but it can’t achieve the 100%.
By the way My sweet teacher you are sooo good in english and your teaching style also so cool.
…don’t let them fool you, it should say! All the best!
No matter!!!
” The man who never makes a mistake,is the man who never does anything ”
:) Regards!
Thanks, Fatima! You’re so right.
100 :)
Thank you teacher.
7/10
How are you REBECCA?
I’m a new student.Pease can help me to improve my english’s level?
Welcome!
:p
I liked your all the questions and quizes.
I was very surprised. I’m from Ukraine and we ALWAYS use intonation in the asking question. But in the school and university teachers always said us that intonation isn’t used in English, only auxiliary verbs (do,will, did…)
So, I have a little question.
Is intonation a feature of only modern American English or British English too?
thanks for the lesson, i appreciate it

Hi Rebbeca…is this form was for interjuction?
Thank you my dear teacher.
I always appreciate you.
Thank you Rebecca
Hello, Rebecca. Firstly, I wish to express my appreciation for all your lessons.
Is the question : “You did do the test?” same “You really did the test?”?
