ths
can sound like a z
? Or that tt
can sound like d
? In this lesson, we look at ways to pronounce some common vocabulary that English learners often find difficult or confusing. Beyond the ten words we cover in the video, I’ll share my pronunciation methods, so you can apply the techniques seen here to learn other difficult words.

Thank you Adam for helpful lesson.
Thank you Adam .
Great lesson . You are just getting me out of a infamous difficulty . Before this lesson , I was unable to pronounce any of these words correctly except ” confortable”
In most part of dictionnaries , we can’t find IPA for plural words .
I will definitely add merriam webster to my favorite sites list .
Thank again

Dear Adam, could you please help us how to spell “world”? Could you recommend a website or book to learn syllables as per scholars learn? Tks a million. You are the best.
Hi Liscamposrosa,
You can find syllable breakdowns and phonetic spellings in good dictionaries. You can try merriam-webster.com. They spell world like this: wər(-ə)ld.
Thank you Adam
Thanks Adam,
Go ahead !
The pronunciation of such words is important, interesting, and difficult. I ‘m sure if I want to speak like a native speaker I must learn how to speak these words properly. I really enjoyed this lesson. Thank you, Adam. You’re a great teacher.
Thank you for your lesson

Thanks Teacher Adam,
Although it found little difficult to answer the questions, I believe myself to pronounce those words nearly accurate.

Hi Adam. I appreciate your work, indeed. In this spirit, it would be very helpful to see the difference between verbs RAISE and RISE. For me, they are super confusing and sometimes I think they are using interchangeably which is false. Best
Hi SWXSWX,
You should watch this video:

Hi Adam. How are you? Thank you for this lesson.
And here’s my jokes.(Seems to me new Russian jokes are old American ones). Let’s get started!
1 – Where will you fly to spend your vacation?
– I’m scared to fly…
– So you can drink vodka before the flight!
– When I drink vodka I feel not bad here in
Russia!
2 A young couple passes near two old women into
the (hall). One of old women:
– And what did he find in her? Skinny, in
glasses. And he is so nice, so (visible) and a
doctor!
– Seems to me … good analyzes.
3 A woman applies to a police station: “I lost my
husband!” They ask her about his (features) and
his habits. And then they ask her:
“What should we say him when we will find him?”
A woman:” Tell him my mom decided to not come!”
4 On vacation:
– Miss, why are you so pale and (untanned)?
– I’m from Tver(a town in Russia).
– What the …. don’t you have a summer?
– I was working that day…
Thank you for attention and I hope you will improve my mistakes.
Hi Katrin,
I like these jokes. Except #2…not sure I get it.
There are some infections which people might get during the 6ual contact. She hasn’t them…
Adam,by the way “She hasn’t them…” – is it OK or I should say “She hasn’t got them…”&”She doesn’t have them…”??? Thank you.
Hasn’t by itself doesn’t really work. Hasn’t got or doesn’t have are ok.
Got 7/9. Bad… Thanks!
THANKS ALOT MAN.
Got 9/9 Thanks
Very nice lesson, thanks Adam
Hi, Teacher, great lesson, I found out I made some pronounce mistakes; Thanks.
Thank you everybody :)

Dear Adam! You are a great specialist in PHRASAL VERBS. When you have free time, I kindly ask you to make a lesson about PHRASAL VERBS with the verb SETTLE. Thank you in advance.
Hi, Adam. It might be a not appropriate question for the topic, but anyway. My current English level is about Intermediate and recently I faced a problem of increasing my vocabulary.
I’ve been learning words on one site via cards. But now I’ve got more than 3000 words there and the amount keep increasing. It takes some time to at least review them :) And that’s becoming a problem. What would you recommend me in this case?
I thought about just giving up learning words via cards and just read/listen/watch videos, so that words that I see frequently would be memorized automatically
And I wonder how people populate their vocabulary having high levels, like advanced
Thanks :)
Hi Photon,
I actually just made a video about this on my other channel. Let me know if this helps:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pr8ivzA5lnw&t=598s
I even subscribed and pushed the like button :D I think it’ll help. Practice, practice, 100% practice, okay
May I request that you make a video tutorial on Simple Future tense, Future progressive tense, and future perfect. Thank you.

Thanks Teacher.
8 correct of 9,not bad! thanks for the lesson Adam.
thanks again Adam!! it was a good tip!
Thank you for this nice video, Adam! Some words are really complicated to pronounce. Then we need to be careful when we use them. On the other hand, in my opinion, the British standard tends to be more orthodox and phonetic than the North American pronunciation.
Good luck to you in this new phase of your life! I wish you all the best in the new country where you are based now!
Hello.Thank you for video. Could you make video about sound TH. It’s hard to say it for Non-native speakers.
