you're welcome
in English? In this lesson, I will teach you 17 ways that you can acknowledge someone’s gratitude. You will learn when and how to use no problem
, no worries
, don't mention it
, my pleasure
, it was nothing
, and 12 more! If you want to add more variety and learn other polite formulas to respond to thanks, this is the English lesson for you. Don’t forget to do the quiz I wrote for this lesson to test your understanding.

Thank you, Alex
Happy new year!
Happy new year to you too!
It is important to add variety to our English. Believe it or not, this makes us sound more natural.
I thought the expression “Don’t mention it” was formal not casual. Well, anyway the bottom line here is to be aware of other ways to say “You’re welcome”and use them in different contexts (formal/informal).
Outstanding lesson Alex. See you next time.
thank you very much Alex for your professional lessons.
my English language is not good and also I have to improve my English language. please instruct me to see your all videos lessons step by step
I look forward to your reply please.
I watched engvid.com to improve my English skill. My TOEFL score is better but I need more 37 points. Any suggestion?
It depends what your weak areas are. For TOEFL, vocabulary, structure, and fluency and very important, so I’d learn and practice all 3, but it’s hard to say what to focus on without knowing your scores on the different sections of the test.
I’ve got a paper based TOEFL exam. Listening comprehension: 52; Structure & written expression: 51 and Readding comprehension: 51
Total Score: 513
It seems I need improvement all skills :'(
You can ask for a teacher. I’m on the same boat as you but I intend to have IELTS. I know that are some weakness on me so I engaged at english school again to map them all and solve them.
I hope you will pass your IELTS. Good luck.
Hey, Worawitoo! Check my website, http://www.goodlucktoefl.com. It may help you, in addition to Alex’s good advice. Also, I would sign up for a good TOEFL class or get a private teacher who specializes in TOEFL. All the best!
Thank you, Rebecca. I’ll check it. You are one of my favorite Engvid teachers (Alex, Adam and Rebecca). I’m excited reading your comment.
Take care
Anytime Alex you are my best teacher

Uh-huh! I´m kidding, teacher Alex. That one sounds really awkward and a little meaningless. So…

I agree with you entirely Maité.
See you around!
Thank you a lot Alex
It was my pleasure to see your reply on this meaningless comment.
BTW It was a fantastic lesson
Thank you, Alex
You are great teacher!
Hi Alex. You’re always welcom
Nice lesson! Also it has made me think about the number of English words. I have ever believed that Italian had more words than English. But it’s not true! In fact Italian has approximately 250.000 headwords but English about 500.000. But I would say these number are an end in themselves. I think that treasure of a language is based on culture that it gives/gave life. And both languages have created extraordinary things!
Thanks a lot Alex!
Thank you Alex! It was very usefull for me!
hi alex you’re very welcome to study with you with pleasure and no worries for thanks me because it was nothing and it’s my pleasure to watch you on engVid and anything for watching your videos and i’m happy to understand everythings from you. these are great lessons you make we need them,i really appreciate that, thank you so much for you and for your freind steve

This anniversary issue was pleasant to watch. I always have difficulties in replying somebody’s thanks. I’m glad to be helped. So, thank you
by the way you let steve alone and you’ve left maybe he will cry.
Hello SKIKDA. You’re one of the active and constant members here, but you haven’t been here for a long time. I just wanted to say it is great to have you here again, good luck.
thanks nkh453 for your comment wich is concern me and this make me happy, like alex said in this lesson “it’s the thought that counts”
thanks Alex
I think this is the first video of the year. Welcome back teacher. I appreciate you lesson and Thaks everyone for contacting me by skype.
Thank you very much for these 17 options.
I don’t understand why no problem-O.Where does the “O”come from?
No problem-A could be less weird for me. Problema is the Italian translation of problem.
That’s a good question! It is probably imitating Spanish—though in Spanish it’s problema as well.
Thank dear, dear Alex … for this very nice and important lecture.
Hello teacher ALEX,this lesson was really interesting and useful too, your lovable intonation and interesting body language make me to want to learn more about english and watch all of your training videos. Now beside EMMA you’re my favorite teacher too. Nice teaching.
And I forgot to say:Happy New Year Alex. I wish you the bests
Thank you Alex! I appreciate your brilliant and pleasant way to communicate not only with the words, but with the entire body, especially through your expressive face. keep it up :-)
“It was my pleasure to watch this lesson Alex! no need to say “thanks for clicking” :D
“No worries” and the last question with “all of the above” were my failures, but I think it was a little problem with my photographic memory, and no problem because I will have to review again to be sure about them. Thanks a lot, teacher Alex, a very interesting lesson.
Thank you Alex for this and all your lessons
Happy new Year.

Now, Can you help me to figure out what the word vibe (or they usually type “vibes”) mean? People use it all the time, but I don’t get it:(
Hey Alex,
Vibe means energy or general feeling of a person, place, or thing.
“I like the vibe here.”
“I don’t get a good vibe from him.”
“The vibe at my job is terrible.”
Thank you very much for these sentences. It must be easy to get it next time I’ll see it.
Thank you all for this site. It helps a lot. Don’t stop.
