At that time when i was thinking about this concept. I was pronouncing the word “apple “. When I pronounced it like thuh apple . It seemed awkward to me. I was repeatedly pronouncing thee apple or thuh apple ☺ but when I pronounced thee apple . My ears felt good to listen . Finally ,I told to myself whether it should be thuh or thee but I will pronounce thee apple, because it sounds good ☺

Very good morning to you Gill! You lesson is very easy to understand and very nice. I love it! However, a question popped up in my mind about the correct pronunciation of the word “vegetable”. It seems you are saying the word fully at the minute 9.40 of the video, but many new folks on Youtube are saying “vegetable” should be pronounced skipping “ge” to say “vegtable”. So, what do you think is the right way to say “vegetable”? Thank you so much! Vinc.
vtmt14
Hi there — thank you for your kind words about the lesson :-) Both pronunciations of ‘vegetable’ are correct — one with 4 syllables and one with 3. Another example is ‘chocolate’ which can be 3 syllables or 2 (choc-o-lut, choc-lut). I hope this helps to clarify :-)
Gill
Good day, Gill! I love your lessons so much. I just want to listen and listen to you again. Your pronouciation is incredible for me. Well, this why I want to ask you: what syllable is stressed in word ‘hospitable’? I know that there are two ways of pronouncing it but which one is more right? Which of them do you prefer? What does the pronounciation depend on? Thanks in advance!
P.S.: It would be nice if I managed to hear you speaking this word. And I`d love to watch a lesson on this theme.
