Hi Rebecca , thanks for nice lesson , could you clarify me one inquiry about the using of “take sides”it seem to choose one of two choices, why don’t we use “take side”
Thanks for your answer.
We use “take sides” because we are speaking about the general idea of not being impartial, though I agree it sounds like more than one side. We can also say, “I take your side / his side / her side/ their side”, to be more specific. Thanks for asking and for thinking! I wish you all the best.

Hello. It is my first day here with you great job.thank you
this lesson takes me by surprise but it was interesting. teke care!
Dear Rebecca, I’ve got a vague memory of having being taught or read somewhere that the the idiom ” Take place ” is mainly used in situations where an event has been plannned / thought of before, whereas ” happen ” should be used when there is an element of ‘ surprise ‘ .i.e, not expected. Could you kindly elaborate on that? Thank you immensely in advance !

When I started learning from this site. I just watched videos and did the quiz part. But still i was unable to express my feeling, in a proper way. And negative energy inside me said, ” You will take forever to learn English”.
But then i take my time and start learning it with more concentration. I start taking note of lecture. I get a sense, my learning should take effect soon. Finally, i feel, i shouldn’t take sides without taking charge of it.
Hello Rebecca, I am a beginner.I watch eng vid’s videos sometimes. I want to watch every video on this website.I am wondering if there is any way that I could find which video I should watch first. I sorted out by beginner from the search menu, but it still unclear to me. Please help me, Rebecca.

i’ve heard many times this idiom “let’s not take a saw to the brunch we’re sitting on” while watching movies. Should i use the idiom of take a saw for sentences in life?
for instance, pleace not take a saw to the your life by doing mistake , or you’re taking a saw to your relationship with Jane by seeing the other people sneakily, and etcetera.
