Hi Rebecca,
I was curious to know the difference between an American accent and Canadian Accent. When I watch Hollywood movies I can differentiate between a Texas drawl and a “Yankee accent” but is there any difference between Canadian and US accent?? Is it dependent on ethnicity also?? Specifically speaking what is your accent when u speak??

Great thanks for this lesson.
I am beginner student of English and i have little problem with understanding all words that You say. Of course in you tube is subtitles, but if word is difficult, translation is crazy. May you look subtiltes and to correct mistake. If it is altogether possible. .
eurokolchoznik
“subtitles” is plural, so use “are”. And don’t trust those subtitles. xD
morfik
““subtitles” is plural” … Thanks!
It was simply mistake, and i must to be more carefully.
(co do tych napisów to sa koszmarne)
eurokolchoznik
“i must to be more carefully”
“must be” — as a modal verb
“have to be” as a idiomatic modal verb
Don’t write “must to be”. xD

If you are interviewing someone for a job, it might be best to say:
Could you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Could you talk about your strengths and weaknesses?
That might sound kinder, when applied to a human being. All the best to you.
Rebecca
In my opinion, i have many advantages in watching your video lessons. Thanks.

gotta some questions :
1- what about good points & bad points
they say it only used in speaking not allowed in writing
2- you used plus and minus, which they become as preposition in the sentence and they meaning to show that one number or amount is add or subtracted to another, can they used as pros and cons and in which part of speech ?
3- what do you mean about professional E-mail ?
hisham77
You can say good points and bad points, but the vocabulary I have given in the lesson is a little more advanced.
When we speak about the pluses and minuses of a situation, we are using those words as nouns, not verbs. When we say, Two plus two is four”, we are using plus as a verb.
By professional email, I meant business email, not personal email.
All the best to you!
Rebecca
I cannot find any drawback in your perfect lessons.
Shay
Nice! My best to you, Shay.
Rebecca
Great lesson. Thank you.
gloria16
Rebecca, you said that only “pros” and” cons” occur always together, and in case of the others, we can use them either both or just one of them. But can we mix them? For instance:
“Let’s compare the plus points and the drawbacks of the newly released product.” — Is that possible, or does it sound kind of strange?
morfik
no, i think you use them in pairs as R has said. in my perspective, she means that there is only pair that has to go together, other left pairs, you can use one part.
MaiHuongNguyenThi
It sounds strange when you mix them. Try to learn and use the pairs together. All the best!

Rebecca, you are the proficient teacher and I would like to ask you a question, may I???????? What about CAE and CPE???? Do they differ from TOEIC? I am just wondering, because I wanna take some of these exams, it’s really hard to get a job nowadays without having some of these certificates.
katerynakoziar
there are many different English proficiency exams. Which exam you take depends on why you are taking it. I don’t know many people who take exams for fun! So think about what your goal is in taking a particular exam. Also, check what employers or universities look for in your country. Different exams are popular in different parts of the world, so take the exam that will help you the most towards your specific academic or professional goals. My best wishes to you.
