Hi miss Rebecca, I wish you all the best.
But there are exceptional words and times examples: evening, morning etc…you didn’t talk about them.
I have got a wonderful teacher
Thank you for the lesson. It’s very useful and the method is cute. I can’t understand only one. I even made a mistake taking the quiz. “We’re supposed to be paid __________ Friday evening”. Why should I use ON instead of IN. I usually use “IN the evening”. I think there’s some kind of identity of meaning THE and FRIDAY in this case, if you understand. Though it coud be sustainable expression. I would be happy to read explanation. Thank you again.
Check out the resource Rebecca has uploaded for us and you´ll find the answer to your question ;)
Yes, zand1969. I recommend the same as knopfler86. My resource explains the general rule and also lists all the exceptions.
https://www.engvid.com/english-resource/50-expressions-using-at-on-and-in-prepositions-of-time/
It will help clarify the issues. I wish both of you the very best.
I have already done as I was recommended. Thank you very much :)

Hi Royarezaee, I was in Teheran as well, as spanish teacher, and I know how is the life there. But, you can’t stop learning…there is always one way to get it.
why youtube is blocked in your country ?? it’s so bad for you …..
@Macedonia youtube is good but The government has blocked it ….face book and twitter too .
It’s a really bad situation – I sympathize with you.

I have already noted this rule, but the analogy about the pyramid was perfect. My best wishes. :)
Awesome lesson… Most of the times I get confuse in preposition. But why are we using ‘in’ in evening, morning, afternoon eventhough these are specific words.
When you check out the resource on this topic, you will see that in some situations, we just have to use an expression. And some of the expressions are exceptions to the rules!
Check it out here:

All the best to you, Hemant.

After years i found a way for me learn english again. awesome. Thank you
if using table or desk, which word prefer use? like on the table or at the table?
Both are correct, but have different meaning.
1. Chair is on the table.
2. Chair is at the table.
First sample. Someone literally put chair on top of the table. Like a cleaning person that would like to clean the floor.
Second sample. Someone put chair next to the table. This is normal position of char next to the table when person sits at the table or when person leaves the room and is polite to leave a room tidy.
thank you dear teacher. how can we use prepositions for things, like for instance: in bed, on the internet, at school…?
1. My aunt is in her house.
2. Wallet is on the bed.
3. Pedestrians are waiting at the traffic light.
First sample. In is used to express something is inside of another object. Money is in my wallet.
Second sample. On is used to express something is on the top of another object. Wallet is on the bed. It is on top of the bed.
Third sample. Something is near, next to some other object, but not on top of it.
But there are expressions. Question: Where is Robert now? Answer: Robert is at school.
In this case we are not saying on school, because it would mean he is on top of school, on roof. We also do not say in school, because this would be too specific. I think the only exception would be if we are near school and searching for Robert. We don’t know if Robert is inside (in) school, at school, probably outside but hidden from our view or something else.
AT- ON – IN
Examples of use :
Space/Location Time Other
AT David is waiting at the bank. At 9 o’clock Anne is good at English.
I saw Mary at work, at home,
at the party, etc. At the age of 80. Look at that car!
We met at the station. At night. The golfer aimed at the flag.
ON The bank is on the main street. On December 25th. On television.
The book is on the desk. On Sunday. On the radio.
Don’t walk on the grass. On my birthday. On holiday(s)
IN The money is in the bank. In 2012. She writes in English.
The desk is in the room. In a minute, a month, a year,
the future.the past. He is in good humour.
The children are in the garden. In the morning, the afternoon,
the evening. They are in danger.
He works in the city. In winter, spring, summer, autumn. We are in good health.
Harry and Sally met each other at a barbecue while they were on holidays. They live in the same town so they arranged to meet again at the cinema at 7 o’clockon the following Saturday. The cinema is on main street in the town centre. Later in the evening they had dinner in an Italian restaurant on the square.
Thanks so much
thanks!
Thanks ms.Rebecca for your useful lesson. I’d checked your resource and I didn’t see the expression like “we’re in love”. I’d studied English for a couple of years but I really didn’t no what’s exactly mean the word “in love”. Can I say I’m in love with studying English? :D
Sorry for my spelling, I mean “know”. Not “no” .
In this lesson Rebecca is talking about prepositions of time. Being “in love” is not time topic.
What does “in love” mean? Two persons have strong positive feelings to each other. There are lovers.
I am not a native English speaker but saying to be in love with studying English, does sound strange to me. My opinion is to be “in love with” is expected to be with some person, not the object or thing. I think it would be better to say, I love studying English. In this case love does not mean romantic love between two lovers, but something that you very much like doing.
thanks so much Rebeca.
very helpful.
Thank you very much Rebeca :)
Got09/10. Thank you Rebecca . As always useful lesson.

Hello, I have a guestion.
Is it correct to say “I’ll be driving to the countryside at the weekend.”?
If it is correct I would like to know why.
I understand that we use “at” for specific time, which in this case it’s aplicable because it’s specific, but also weekend means 2 days (Saturday+Sunday) so immediately I think of “in” which it sounds even better to me in the sentence above.
Thank so much and have a good day????
thank you so much ?
“Light can travel a distance of 300000 km in a second” or “Light can travel a distance of 300000 km at a second”?
