To be
or not to be
? That is the question! In this lesson, I’ll be covering all the forms of the most important verb in English – the irregular verb to be
. Even if you already know this verb, you may want to review and make sure you know how to use it correctly in every form in present, past, and future tenses. I’ll also give you some examples of famous sayings and song titles using this verb. I am
certain this lesson will be
helpful to you. Don’t forget to test your knowledge by doing the quiz after watching.

Good teacher!!
What expression is righ.. The weather was nice, or the weather has been nice?
Thank you
hi – both of your examples are correct – you can say ‘The weather was nice yesterday’ (simple past) or ‘The weather has been nice recently’ (in a more continuous sense).
Hi dear Jill.I’m learning English and I can’t understand the differences between advertisement and advertising.I know both of them are noun.I would be thankful if you could tell me?
hi – advertisement is a noun, but advertising is the present participle (verb) ending -ing. You can also use ‘advertising’ as an adjective, eg ‘We are planning an advertising campaign’. It all depends on how you use the word in a sentence :-)

I love your classes. The way you talk it’s make me so happy. I tried to talk like you but I couldn’t talk like you.
I get to know 2 very important thing in your video. 1st: Is-we used when it’s 3rd person which I didn’t know.
2nd: Been- we used been in past participle.
Being-we used being in present participle.
I was confused between being and been.
Honestly, I’m still confused about has been and have been. I don’t acknowledge that where I use has been and have been.
In this video I learn about to be all the forms. In my school I weren’t never acknowledge about this to be forms.
I have an another problem and that is were. Were is my problem.
I know it used in past tense but which situation and when I use (were) I don’t know.
Thank you Gill, I got 9/10 not bad
