I think,”scheduled” is un adjective so like “planned” and not pp for “to schedule”

Hi James! Thank you for the great lesson!
Could you please help with one more question… What if the third form of the irregular verb doesn’t change? I mean the verbs like: put, cut,fit and so on. How can we know the correct time? Like in these two examples:
1) He sad he’d(had)put it on the table.
2) He sad he’d(would)put it on the table.
Do we guess the right meaning only from the context?
