Learn new vocabulary and expressions AND practice your comprehension in this English lesson! In this video I teach you about boats and sailing. For many of you, this will be a topic you don’t know much about. Excellent! You can learn something completely new… in English! I’ll tell you about the important parts of a sailboat, then I’ll explain some very common expressions that come from sailing that we use in everyday life. You’ve probably heard some of these before: all in the same boat, to jump ship, all hands on deck, and more. Take the quiz to see how much you understood. Watching this video is a great way to practice for IELTS, TOEFL, and other tests which include English listening.

Being honest, the first part of the video was totally incomprehensible for me, and as someone said above, it´s hard to remember all the vocabulary.

Hi Ben! Tsk for useful lesson. I don’t like the people who jump ship when something or someone rocks the boat. In that time captain needs all hands on deck and everyone can show his true colors. Today you might be in deep trouble and tomorrow you will keep ones head above water, this means we all in the same boat.

Let’s push the boat out, don’t be so careful and we can achieve our goals!!!
