get mail
or take mail
? How about get a pill
or take a pill
? The verbs to get
and to take
can be easily misused because they seem so similar. But one of them is passive, and the other is an active verb. In this English grammar lesson, I will explain the difference between get
and take
, and I’ll give you examples of how to use them. After watching, you will know exactly which of the two verbs to use in any situation. Bonus: If you watch until the end, I’ll teach you a slang expression that is an exception to the rule.

one question, if I may: is there a class about the difference between COME and GO? Many of my students don’t get that right, because it’s exactly the other way round in their native language and therefor, in their thinking (Spanish speakers). I know it’s about the perspective, but it’s hard to find a real explanation. My students COME to class when they arrive, and GO when they leave, but … why? Thanks!
Your style of illustration is distinctive ronnie

hi, I have an idea. Put the comment part after the video therefore the students will see the “leave a comment” blank and they’ll want to write something. but right now you should get down to the page to see the option for leaving a comment.

Wow! Some are hard and confusing.
I’ve got 80.
I have been studying English at EngVid since March, 2022 and now we are in may, 2022. I have planned on watching almost each video here in beginner level at first in order to evolve my listening skills as I focused on just reading and spelling in the past.
I’d start focusing on speaking skills at the end of 2022.
I’m writing this as a way to find a fruitful language partnership to enhance my speaking skills in the future as it’s possible that someone would like to read this in the coming months from now.
My priority is an academic and formal English as I need English to develop myself scientifically and in career aspect at first.
Kindly feel free to talk to me whenever you read this and whatever a reason might be, I’m excitedly interested in exchanging knowledge and experience.
You’ll know how to reach me once you click on my picture here besides this comment.
I have started to number videos I watch here, and this is the eighth one. Hopefully I can reach more than 1000 as soon as possible.
Thank you so much miss
I got 70

Hello,
I have a question about the first example, could we say ,, Take a coffee,, instead of get a coffee.
I think it is also correct to say I took a coffe ☕ because nobody gave it to me, which means that both answers would be correct.
i love your class. It was so useful for me!!
thanks you
