Do you have to give a speech or presentation? Start here. In this class, we’ll look in detail at a classic speech given by John F. Kennedy. By understanding how exactly this speech works, we can learn how to make our own speeches more powerful and impactful. We will look at word choice, but also talk about timing, tone, and more. Next, watch my lesson on how to improvise during a speech.

Hello Benjamin, I think that besiege is not correctly written. I found BESIEGE in the dictionary instead of BESEIGE
Very satisfied

Great lesson, very interesting your mix of history, grammar and analysis of the speech . Thanks
Hi Benjamin,
thank you for your lesson.
Could it be possible that in the word “beseiged” there is a mistake and the correct version should be “besieged” ?
(according to the dictionary : besiege = to surround a city, building, etc., with soldiers and try to take control of it. / The army besieged the castle.)
You are 100% right! Thank you for spotting the mistake :)
Thank you Benjamin for a great example of manipulative speech! In such a short passage there are almost all elements of suggestion.
