If you are anxious about speaking over the phone, you are not alone! Phone conversations are something all language learners struggle with. If you are shy or very self-conscious, you may have trouble with phone conversations even if English is your first language. Well, I have some tips to help make it easier, which I will show you in this lesson. Get the attention of the person you are talking to with highly effective phrases, and learn how to introduce yourself over the phone. No matter which stage of learning you are at, this lesson is for all you nervous callers!

Really an opportunity to review how we can make a phone call to someone we know or how to search a job or make a business with other words by phoning a call. It has been very useful lesson although the teacher’s accent or pronunciation has been a little quick, the British English accent, I would say a little difficult for a beginner but if you have your listening skills loud and clear then you will understand all the short terms at the drop of the hat or immediately. Thanks a lot, teacher Benjamin, I will have to remember all these formulas to phone and use them properly.
angardiobel
Another question might be if you can confuse the words, “clarify” and “clearly” because they are very similars writing them although the first is a verb and the second is an adverb, but they may be confused easily.
Hi Benjamin.
Can’t you say: “Do you have a minute FOR a quick chat” instead of repeating HAVE?.
Cheers.
Marcelo.
PS: See you in November :).

Hi, Benjamin. I feel nervous when I call, even in Japanese which is my first language. As for English, I’m sure I’ll be more nervous of course! But by taking this useful lesson, now I’m a little more confident with talking on the phone in English.
It’s important to be cheerful when we call to somebody else because we can’t see the face each other! If I mumbled, the person talking with me doesn’t understand what I say and gets uncomfortable because of it.
Anyway, thank you for the help! See you later.
