haiku
, which is a Japanese poetry style made up of three short lines. Because haikus are short and often use simple vocabulary, they are great for learners of English to read and write. I will teach you about the history of the haiku and how it is constructed. Some haikus have a very deep philosophical meaning despite being so short, which is why they are so interesting. By the end of the lesson, I hope you’ll be inspired to write a haiku of your own and post it in the EngVid comments section!

haiku poetry
The fish seemed funny
I ate it, I laughed till tears
Was a clown fish, dear
:)
Better this way?
The fish tastes funny
I ate it, I laughed till tears
Was a clown fish, dear
:)
Love is pure, yet overrated
How can i survive in your absence
with you or without you
It was a beautiful and a great lesson; thanks a lot, Gill. This is my Haiku.
“My crazy country
you have got your shiny chance
but you trash it, shit”
English is crazy
It makes people laugh and cry
I’ll give it a try
古池や 蛙飛び込む 水の音
It implies the scenary and how quiet it is around the pond, and how the poet felt then. The imagination is the key of Haiku.
5-7-5 poems are so deep in language.
What should I go now?
I’m the only bird on the sky.
Hope somebody can be my side.
Thanks you Gill. This lesson on the Haiku is very interesting and congrat to your friend for her London Haiku.
Here’s the result of your lesson (lugubrious, he ?) :
The wind blows too much
In the hollow halls of my past
Let it ! Now I’m warm.

How to learn English well.
In the quiz, there is a question asking “From which country does the haiku form originate?”
Is this sentence grammatically correct? For I think “originate” is also a verb.
Thanks English I can connect with Japanese people, and learn about their culture and civilization. So I am very grateful to Engvid.com and all teachers to improve my communication skills.
