nice lesson
I got 8/10 but actually I don’t understand everything, the lesson is very difficult and chef’s accent is difficult heard, that is London accent and he spoke fast. anyway thank Gill and hope I’ll better next lesson, see you soon

Nice to see Gill again and she looks healthy and okay. This lesson is special because it was filmed outside right in the real spot in UK. I’ve thought Gill’s video is understandable even to beginners because she speaks slowly and clearly when she teaches in the classroom. But this time, I found that when she speaks with native speakers, the conversation level is for upper-intermediate or advanced ESL students. I watched with subtitles on but I felt difficult to follow the speed of conversation and the important point is that concentration is more important than the knowledge of vocabulary. This video is interesting one and worth watching more than twice. Thanks Gill for this amazing lesson!

Just a question: do you usually fry the fish and the chips in olive or vegetable oil??
Hi – I think they use vegetable oil in that particular shop. I don’t do much cooking myself, so I don’t use either type of oil.

I´d like to know about the quiz, because some question were not based on the conversation. for example, the first and the second ones. it was never mentioned that The UK is a good place for fish, because it is surrounded by sea, as well as the fact that Friday is the day strongest day association with fish in the UK.

Hi – yes, you’re right, I don’t think I mentioned about Friday being associated traditionally with eating fish. But I think most people know that the UK is surrounded by sea ;-)

I don’t recommend it. Fish&Chips, very popular and very unhealthy. Twice maybe three times in a year is ok but not everyday. It’s a bomb of calories and transgenic grease.
Fish&Chips + Beer everyday= Obesity + Diabetes.
Additionally, you cannot say the type of fish you are eating.
I love the UK’s culture!
