Rebecca’s teaching style is unique, that’s for sure. She conveys her ideas with great ease.
Showing empathy for someone else is an excellent strategy to improve social relationships. It shows others that you care about them.
Superb lesson Rebecca, thanks.
All the best.
Hey Regino, I´ve been following this site for a long time without commenting, and every time I see a video I notice that you have made a comment. You must be really knowledgeable about English. I´m an advanced English learner and I´m looking for someone to practice English with. If you´re interested my skype account is kevin_colocho. All my best wishes for you.
Hi Regino
In my opinion all your comments are very interesting. Are you a teacher? You express yourself with so much property!
Hi GoodGirl,I’m glad to know that a Mexican girl like you -interested IN learning the language with native English speakers-takes English lessons on this website; in fact there’re few ones that do it.
Thanks for your comments ( and compliment).
All my best & have a marvelous weekend!
could you give me your skype? I think you can help me with some grammar lessons, please :) :) I promise don’t be annoyed with you, if you decide add me lizi_zr, thanks in advance

Di Rebecca, I was wondering if it be possible to explain for me what is different between “at the beginning” and “in the beginning”
The two phrases are generally used interchangeably, so don’t worry about it too much. Sometimes, “in the beginning” is more general, and “at the beginning” is more specific, but really don’t fret over it. It’s almost the same. All the best.
Thanks a lot
that was very useful
Hello Mustafa,
Rebecca is right about the usage of the two phrases in everyday English.
However, please note that UK learners are required to differentiate between the two e.g. in more advanced Cambridge exams.
The bottom line is that “AT the beginning” is normally followed by “OF + “, whereas “IN the beginning” is NOT. The latter (“In the beginning”) is normally a stand-alone phrase.
Examples:
– I ordered some books at the beginning of February. (things seen a specific point of time – AT)
– We should aim for a bit of understanding in the beginning. (= to start with) (things seen as an extended period of time – IN)
Check out the “Get It Right!: beginning” section at:
http://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/british/beginning
You might as well carry out a micro-research using Google and putting the phrase into question into “” quotation marks.
Cheers,
David
I love the way you teach us Rebeca! Thank You!
I got new word in this quiz. What does “frantic” mean?
Thank you, Rebecca :)
That means wildly excited. Similar to crazy, insane, mad.
“Frantic” *? It means that you are unable to control your emotions because you are extremely frightened or worried about something.
Hope it helps Happy04.
Have a marvelous week!
*P.S. Definition taken from The Oxford Advanced English dictionary (2013).
Oh, thank you for your help, Regino :) Have a marvelous week, too!

Hi! dear rebecca
You always do a great job that’s why you are my favorite, and many engvid members… I have a question. Can I express myself ? e.g ” I must be happy” I don’t see where you use the pronoun “I”. please, can I use it? and the expression “THAT MUST BE ” only use with a nom. Many thanks for this great lesson… by the way, dear. You have a nice smile.
My best wishes to you.
I’m much obliged.I have a question, how can I improve my vocabulary,Do you have a specific method? Thanks again.
Look to the videos and read, read, read – for example newspapers (online), blogs etc. – and look up words in a dictionary.
I like to use the cambridge dictonary (online) to look up words I don’t know. The definition is be given in English. So this is challenging but the progress you will made is worth the extra work.
If I really don’t get it with the English definition I look it up at a dictionary which translate it to my native tongue. For example LEO or dict.cc are good ones.
And very important: Try to use the words you learnt on every occasion.
Hi dear panda7 thank u so much.I like to speak with you. This is my skype name: Arsinr rabiee .I hope you add me as a contact.

Thank you Rebecca.
I got9/10.*_*
ENGVID is the BEST!!!!!!
Thanks a lot,Rebecca!Could you explain the difference between “you must be tired” and “you must have been tired”
Difference is easy.
“You must be tired.” is present tense. I see you now and you look tired now.
“You must have been tired.” is present perfect. You tell me for example what you did last week and I reply with this sentence because you were tired last week.
Thanks for your answer,panda7!But does it mean that he must be tired in the particular period in the past or from that period till now? Thanks in advance.
Please don’t nail me down to my answer, I’m only an English learner.
“You must have been tired” is only the past form of what Rebeca explained in her video about showing emphasis.
You: “Last Monday I worked 12 hours at a stretch.”
I: “You must have been (really) tired after so many hours!”
We both talking about something in the past – finished. But I show emphasis now for something you have done last Monday.
The use of modal verbs in different situations is always a great help. Thanks to let us know how to be polite and nice in relationships.
Thanks a lot that was a great lesson.
