Quiet and quite were always confusing for me. I am not going to quit learning English.
just dont forget that quiet it means like for example theres two people talking and you can hear your teacher so (quiet) it means can you stop talking please.. i hope this help you

Wow! The only reason I can think of for the strange pronunciation is that google translate uses American pronunciation!
