ziziwhy

can we say ‘sismance’?

ziziwhy

Strangely, no. We really should be able to.

I think you are as unhappy as me in these days ! Everything in this site changes in a bad way and you don’t mind!

      Soei

What does Chang in a bad way?

        nkh

Mostly I know you and the others by the photo . They are being changed all the time !! I don’t know the reason ! Do you know? This problem is not new .

          Soei

          Hmmmm. I don’t know too.

          nkh

Hi Ronnie,

When I watched your video, I thought that word, BREXİT
British and Exit

Thank you for your lesson.

ozden.aktas

    That´s right!!
It happens as well with GREXIT
    Greece and Exit

    knopfler86

    BREXIT

    Britain (not british) + EXIT

    emrahbulduk

Thanks Ronnie!!!
I´m a KNOPFAN (Knopfer fan) and a very good STUENG (Student of English).
Hope to see you again soon ;)

knopfler86

Sismance = Sister + Romance
Hahaha

Guan-Wen

Police + officer = Policer

Roman06

Wow, what a cool challenge you appointed Ronnie. It was an interesting lesson, thank you.
Hey there guys. How are you going to combine words????? What new slangs will you make???

nkh

What about RUPER??? I mixed rude and person together. I don’t know wether it’s good or not.

nkh

    Hi. it’s ok !

    Soei

hey guys, dont combine everything with everything, making up new words is fine, but inventing nonsense is not!

      ahmad.mohammadzadeh

You are right. But it’s only for fun !

        Soei

        This word-inventing can’t be stopped! :P

        engVid Moderator

    Yes, it is an egg-dance!
I’ve been thinking all night long. But could hardly imagine the only mash-up: petman – an animal lover, domestic animals- pets.
Good teacher makes his students be attentive at lessons, but the great one encourages them to study hours afterwards.
    So did Ronnie. Thank you.

    nataanna

it seems that you are always afraid of rudE words.why?

    SKIKDA

Excuse me SKIKDA. I couldn’t understand your words. Could you please explain it clearer??? I mean why do you think so??? If you enlighten me, I will answer you. Thanks.

      nkh

ronnie you are’slanowledgebale’ teacher it means a person knwolegebale about slang, it’s just a word i create i would ask engVid to webcast this ginormous creactive word in this webtiquette site. ha ha ha just a joke.

SKIKDA

What an iInteresting lesson ! I try to make new slangs like them !

Soei

you just could say happy and funny and it will be ‘YOU ARE HANNY SOEI ” literally it’s not corect but in pronounce it’s right. bye

    SKIKDA

      Really ?! I didn’t know .

      Soei

Soei, do you speak Turkish too?

    emrahbulduk

Yes, but not your Turkish !

      Soei

:) ok! I love your culture very much!

        emrahbulduk

what do you mean by not his Turkish?

        keremgolbasi

          Yes she’s right.

          nkh

In Iran we have many people who speak Turkish . But it is different from the Turkish language which is spoken in Turky . In some caces they are similar.

          Soei

Ronnie!

What a weird lesson :=) But funny.

emrahbulduk

Hi Gays,
Could anybody sugest me where can I find subscrib my e-mail for a new episod of EngVid.
Thanks in advance.

psymexx

Hi Ronnie, congratulations, it was a great lesson like always :D I created some new slangs in english :D

gayting = gay + dating :D

drinksting = drinking + tasting…)

and the last one maybe pussialist = pussy + specialist :D a guy who knows a lot about this thing xD

How did it go ? :D

gregorypl25

    haha

    keremgolbasi

It’s not as intersting as I told . After I saw the movie ,I changed my idea . First I said my idea only based on the questions.

Soei

    Really??? How interesting!!!!?

    nkh

      Yes !

      Soei

Dear Soei. Do you mind if I ask a question? I’m so curious to know where you teach. In which institute do you teach? In your profile you mention you’re from Tehran, that’s why I ask. (But if you like, answer. There’s no necessity.)

        nkh

I teach in a high school in Tehran.

      Soei

    that’s great .

    amirrezaee

Hi. What is great? ? Being a teacher or teaching in Tehran ?

      Soei

I know you asked amirrezaee, but I answer too. In my opinion both of them are great.

        nkh

Being a teacher ….and you write very nice &smart

        amirrezaee

          That’s kind of you.

          Soei

          you’r welcome

          amirrezaee

Well, it was a easy lesson with only thirteen words though some of them are a little weird for someone who doesn’t listen them before. Other Mash-ups examples may be, “frankenwords”, “guesstimate”, “webinar”, among others. Thanks a lot, teacher Ronnie, a very funny lesson.

angardiobel

It’s a gorgeous lesson. Love this stuff a lot.

AlexanderR134

even studying risk management and Crisis Management can’t help you be safe of shart!

soozi

I think like you …..I live in your city too…I live around shohada square ..

    amirrezaee

    same city

    ahmad.mohammadzadeh

Thanks Ronnie. This is a very good lesson. Even the test was easy I got 10. Slang words are very important for the learners because natives use them more often when they are speaking. Please continue to teach us more slang words and also reduced words. Thanks.

Very interesting lesson, Ronnie. In my opinion, it is very useful to all “engarners” to learn slang. Thank you so much. “ENGARNER” is my word mash-up, it means “ENGLISH LEARNER”.

Júlio César L Sousa

hello ,everyone

jeroem.lee

thank you for lesson

elamario

Hallow teacher. Another interesting video!. I don’t want to be a rude person but I’m not sure if it worth to learn slangs and use them in a conversation with my friend; I mean, I can’t see myself trying saying thing like “What’s up Bro!” or something like that. I think a lot of people use them and it’s fine, however, in my case, I just want to know what they mean but I wouldn’t like to use them because possibly an Englishman might feel offended if I try to imitate his language.
