thalinho

This lesson was a big deal for me, James.

Finally, I think I undestood how to use the deal word… Thanks a lot.

    See you!

    claudio77

At first I thought butty is a sandwich) but now I’ve got it.)))))
One word was added to my vocabulary.))

    poslegg

Haha, a sandwich in which country? For example, here in Brazil we speak Portuguese, and Butty is a Dog’s common name!

      thalinho

In England)) for example: “a bacon butty”)) and in the Russian language we have a similar one it sounds like “buter” means – sandwich (not English butter!!))).

        poslegg

Thank you James. This is the first time I hear these phrases «raw deal» and «deal me in» and they are definitly good phrases to know !

marwiti

Nice lesson, James!!! Your teaching way always make me laugh. By the way, Would you mind if I asked you a question? Why do the blank of the 3rd question:” That woman who came in the expensive car… I’ve never seen her here before. ________________?” is:” What’s her deal?” ????

badien

The meaning here is “What is her situation?” She has got the expensive car so I want to ask “What’s her deal?” “I think she just has sugar daddy”.)))

Hi there, I hope you can help me on this.

Is this correct?

When I was young, I would climb a mango tree then eat it after.

rjmanla

I think it’s wrong. You are saying that you ate the tree… The whole tree :) I think you should say “When I was younger, I used to climb a mango tree and pick a mango to eat”. Or something like that…

    Sally S

hahahaha!!! I’m sorry. I copied the wrong one. I meant this:

When I was young, I would climb a mango tree then eat my snacks there.
    or
When I was young, I would climb a mango tree and eat my snacks there.

    rjmanla

Do you eat mango trees? It’s weird, When you were young, You climbed a mango tree, caught a mango (fruit) and ate it after.

    jonathan90

Thank you James. I always learn a lot with you!

Sally S

Hi, James! How are you?

pafsilipoclub

Thanks you Brother,..you so smart..

leumara58

Thanks James. What about saying, “He is the real deal.”? What does that mean?

houdah

When someone told that you or sb is the real deal, it means that you will never let sb down. no fault, no fake. People can rely on you.

Fred is a real deal type of person, he’d never let you down. Fred is a real-deal man.

When George is given a mission, he’s always making sure the assignment is perfectly accomplished. George is a real-deal man.

    //*********
    Something like that.))
