Correction for no.1 question. Isn’t that?
Hi, Alex!
Just decided to have the test and, consequently, I have only one mistake as a result. And guess where? “we decided not to [do something]”. Is it supposed to be a correct answer? I’ve always known that it is wrong to put “no” before “to”. But excluding the wrong anwers, I’ve come to another anwer which looked more correct (If i’m not mistaken, it was “We decided not [doing smth]”)
Hello guys. How’s every thing going?
Are you Ok?
Well I hope you’re Ok, but I don’t feel very well anymore.
You know, my mother is so sick. My family and I don’t know what should we do. Please pray for her.
I’m the first child in my family, and I have a little brother, he is so dependent on my mother. I try to make him calm but I’m not successful. Now I’m responsible for my father, my brother and also our house. Maybe, I will never visit Engvid again. But I want you pray for my life; my mother.
Good buy everyone.
Good buy Nataanna,SKIKDA, kotoz and all engvid’s friends.
what’s going on? what are you talking about? stop spamming
Sorry good bye not buy.
I’m not spamming. It is real. I just wanted to share my inquietude with Engvid’s buddies. That’s it. Be sure I’ll never visit here again.
thx
Light comes after darkness
Yes. It’s called a day and a night.
What’s happening now days !
What has happened 2 ur mum ?
What’s wrong !
Don’t rush
She will get better pretty soon
Ask Allah the supplication 4 her
Allah hears u
Allah knows best
If u ask him; Allah almighty answers
Don’t say goodbye e everything will be well
Allah willing
i am so sorry to hear that i will pray for you and i would say be steady and never give up and i wish your calamity will be cure.
I’m so sorry to hear that, nkh. Best wishes for you and your family. We’ll still be here if you decide to come back.
Could you please delete this comment branch? Do not accept it offensively, but this religious crap is starting to irritate me ^^ And one more thing is that it’s impossible to find my thought here.
God bless you and your famyli, hope everything is ok
Dear nkh, I’m so upset about your mother and your leaving the EngVid. I missed your sad news. When I were looking for you, the Moderator gave me the link to your farewell message. I feel very very sorry for not noticing it. I hope you will get my message. I wish you to be strong. I’m too proud being friends with you. Maybe we can chat some time later, when you have time and energy for it.
I will pray for your mom. Stay as positive as you are. May peace and health come into your house. I will miss you. Natalya Kostova from Russia.
“Not to do” something is the negative of “to do” something.
He told me NOT to go.
They were hoping NOT to pay the entry fee.
First of all is that I posted my comment in a wrong lesson (it was opened in a wrong tab), and the second is that I want to thank you for the answer :)
I’ve confused it with another rule where we put “not” before gerund (:
It was suuposed to be a comment to https://www.engvid.com/english-grammar-5-ways-to-use-infinitives , sorry for the confusing comment
Une petite révision, cela ne fait pas de mal !
Meci Alex.
Derien! Merci pour votre aide.
Hello alex. what’s means what you wrote above. (Merci pour votre aide) I ask sorry for my bad English.
Good job, Alex! As always ;) Keep it up!
I’m Eric from Ukraine, btw )
Thanks for your support, Eric. It’s always nice to see people from different parts of the world commenting here.
Thanks Alex
Thanks teacher
Thanks Alex
Thank you, Sir Alex….
that was a great and helpful lesson about common ‘What’ questions.
SIR ALEX PLEASE DO A LESSON OF INFINITIVE,GERUND AND PARTICIPLE.I AM VERY CONFUSE THIS LESSON.
Thank you, Alex….
Hi, thanks for the lesson. I have a question, could you exlain me please when I use the verb to be and when the auxiliar do/does with the question “what”? Thank again
Hi Vexio, you use the verb DO when you’re making questions with the present simple.
Where do you work?
What do you do?
When do you wake up?
The question structure here is:
Question word + DO + subject + base verb
You use DOES with the third person…he/she/it…in present simple questions.
Where does she go to school?
How does he know that?
Why does it matter?
Thanks teacher for your answer. It helps me to understand the use of the auxiliar verb: do. Is the same for the past, Isn´t correct?(Example: Where did you work?). In sume, “to be” is just for continuous form and do for simple form? That is the main difference? Thank´s again!!!
Great explanation, Alex. I’m happy I took the quiz and I got 100. By the way, I recognized Steve. He was the guy who said “What” at the beginning of the video lesson. Very funny! Thanks again. See you in your next video lesson. Goodbye! Take care!
Thanks, Julio Cesar. Steve is always around somewhere. He’s like Waldo.
Great lesson! I would really like you to cover “perfect tenses” on next videos. Would you? I really need to improve my understanding on it! thanks!!!!!!!!!
Hi Juan Pablo, we have a lot of lessons on the perfect tenses. Just use the search function at the top of the page. Maybe I’ll do a new one in the future.
Thank you, Alex!
Thank you for your explenation, I anderstand very well
what amazing teacher ! and with his exciting lesson.
and i would say you don’t includ what when we use it for the exclamation structure.thank Alex for clear lesson.
No problem. Thanks for your continued support, SKIKDA.
“WH-“questions! Nice lesson!
Thanks, Alex.
It’s a good idea to learn English using puppets or marionettes because you remember when you was a child and you learned with tenderness, innocence and careless, furthermore, when you use this system carefully I think you learn how when you tell stories that motivate your mind and you will always bear in mind. Thanks a lot, teacher Alex, 100 our goal and I have got it, it has been a good explanation.
Thanks for your thoughtful feedback, angardiobel. I’m glad you enjoyed the toys!

6. A: “What’s up?”
B: “_________”
Fine, thanks. You? (i press this)
Not much. You?
A direction. You?
“No, thanks.”
“pressed” :)
Alex Thank you so much
Thanks teacher, just one feedback keep aside of the board, your body is blocking the board (This is a class, not a comic show presentation where you stand in the middle); I like student like to take notes, save screens, look back previous notes you write, should be a column not two or smallers leaving a space for you at the right or left side of the board and you should take the right side or left, not in the middle, thanks like your innovative style(puppets idea).
Good point. Thanks!
i take 80% thanhs

What a great lesson! I like the way you teach, Alex, and I always try to put into practice what I learn from you and the other teachers. Hi, violetree. Very funny notice about Alex’s haircut. I watch videos of various years as well. Teachers looked different, especially Emma.
It’s so interesting!
Hi Nataanna I agree with you,it’s always fun and interesting watching old videos from our teachers….Everyone changes and yes Emma has changed too ,of course , but Alex’s hair has changed much more suddenly and drastically than i could have expected..:-)
The older you get the most quiet you become!

Thanks a lot, Alex! 10 correct out of 10. It was mostly grammatical text, wasn’t it?:-)
I like this style of video very much.
You ask about other things to cover in future videos. I’m waiting for next ones about Harry Potter. But it’s rather hard to do, I think. Maybe you can make funny video devoted to Rubeus Hagrid’s “wrong” speech… Sometimes I don’t understand what he says while reading the book. Neither do other non-English-speaking readers, I believe. Thank you again! Good luck!
I like your way to teach
we need you in our school :(
I will try to use this in my life
