THANKING YOU!
Thank you is more formal than thanks, but you can use either one.Your response could be

Hi Emma.I became a little confused about the word “besides”.
How can I recognize the meaning of beside in the sentence?(except or In addition to)
For example
Besides choosing the best material, you always teach great.
I want to say in addition to,but with a little bit thinking in other way It can be except.
Hi Masoud. The word “besides” always means “in addition to”. Emma meant that sometimes this word can mean both “in addition to” and “except”.
Example:
Besides me, no one replied to your comment. =
= In addition to me, no one replied to your comment = Only I replied to you.
Thank you Emma.
thanks emma

The bar is empty except the bartender.
The bar is empty except for the bartender.
The bar is empty with the exception of the bartender.
beside Jan, everybody is present.
Apart from Jan, everybody is present.
with the exception of Jan, everybody is present.
Could you please to tell me 1. if all of those sentence are correct in grammar? 2. if the phases or words “except”,”except for”, “with the exception of “,beside and apart from can be used exchangeablely? 3. if they can’t be used exchangeablely, under what situation each one of them can be used?
Thank you. I am hoping not to bother you so much.
Hello, Emma,
When I say “beside myself”, do I have to complete with the sentiment that
