Emma, hi ;) “meanwhile” has always been used in the past, this is a rule?
Hi Diego! Take a look on #5 “Karen studies hard in the library. Meanwhile, Peter relaxes in his favourite chair.”. So, it’s not a rule.
You hit the nail on the head Andrey!!!
Good for you!
Have a nice week.
excellent
thank you))
My score was perfect! Ya~y :D I didn’t know about how to use “meanwhile.” I got it because of you. And about ‘mean’…I had learned ‘mean’ has ‘verb+ ing.’
ex. I was at home while my daughter was dancing at a studio.
But ‘I was at home while my daughter danced at a studio’ is OK?
Thank you, Emma :)
Nope, it’s not ok. If it was a short dancing and it ended while you were at home, you can say “My daughter danced while I was at home.”
I got it! Thank you, Danials :)
I’m sorry but I don’t know what is different between : My daughter danced while… and I was at home while…
Danials. Can you explain to me, please!

Hey I got 10 to 10….
Hi Emma,
While I was watching your video I thought a question about the following sentence:
“I read a lot of books while I was on the airplane”
If I have to read the sentence aloud to people and I don’t know the sentence completely how can I know the correct pronunciation of “read” (present simple or past simple tense)?
Thanks a lot!
Hi there!
In my humble opinion, I’d like to suggest that you can take a look at whole sentence first while reading that sentence. It might help you figure out the sentence whether it is present or past simple tense at beginning.
Or just correct it later if you make a wrong pronounciation on that word.
Trust me , your friend or other strangers won’t be criticized at this point ,period.
MustChuck, thanks for your opinion.
Hi Emma ,
Please could you explain me?
” what is the different between While and When”

Hi Emma ! What about meanwhile in the middle like here (fragment of article)
“Cobain’s struggle with drugs, meanwhile, was all but an open secret while he was alive, whispered about or written around in order to maintain good graces and access to the superstar and his band.”
And
http://english.stackexchange.com/questions/68435/can-however-and-meanwhile-be-used-in-the-middle-of-a-sentence
So this is like another use-case of meanwhile which is not covered in this video ?
